2 1/4" x 1 1/2", 5.7cm x 3.8cm. A terrific example of a rather uncommon species, Pentagonite. A hydrous Calcium Vanadium Silicate, this species is the high temperature dimorph of Cavansite, and one of the most mis-identified specimens on the market today. Because Pentagonite is outrageously more rare to come across than its brother, Cavansite (which is very uncommon, in its own right), many dealers will sell their oddball Cavansite specimens as Pentagonite, taking advantage of unsuspecting customers.
This specimen is proper Pentagonite. I guarantee very specimen in my shop to be accurately identified by both species and locale, and this specimen is no exception. I have spent my entire 25+ year career as a professional mineralogist, and I stake my reputation on each specimen I list.
Specimen comes mounted and labeled, ready for your display.
