2" x 1 3/4", 5.1cm x 4.5cm. Clinochrysotile (a hydroxide of Magnesium Silicate) is well known to the industrial community--this is naturally occurring Asbestos. The mineral naturally separates into long fluffy fibers, which are the individual crystals of the species. It forms in masses, filling in seams in the host rock. In bright light the mineral exhibits chatoyancy, light travels along the axis of the individual crystals giving a wonderful 'play of light' effect--very similar to a 'cat's eye' in certain gemstones. This specimen will certainly add dimension to any collection of fine minerals. Mounted and labeled, ready for your display.
