Rufous Fantail is a 2-color 3x4" woodblock print.
This piece was made while I was working and living out of a suitcase in the Northern Mariana Islands. For some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to sign up for a print exchange whilst living on an extremely remote island with extremely limited resources. There certainly wasn't an art supply store on my island! I'm happy to report that this was one of the very few times that the printmaking process went perfectly.
Rufous fantails are lively little birds found throughout the Pacific, mostly in Australia and Indonesia. There is a thriving population in the Northern Mariana Islands as well, where they build near-invisible hanging cup nests in any available chunk of forest. They're not a shy species, and oftentimes seem to hang out nearby and supervise you.
I have only 2 of this edition of 17 left! They are signed and numbered by the artist.
