Sometimes I have ambitions to make a wealth of biological artworks: botany, marine biology, herpetology, mammalogy... But let's be honest. I'm just obsessed with birds. They're what I love to draw and carve and print.
This tiny Song Sparrow (2.5"x2.5") is printed on kozo-shi paper. It was carved from one block of wood and printed in the Japanese moku hanga style (process photos are of the same technique, but from another print). Each print is signed and dated by the artist (me!).
As of now, this bird is part of a 4-piece series - keep an eye out for the others!
This print is small enough to be mailed to you between sheets of cardstock in a normal-sized envelope. If you'd prefer it to be sent in more secure and mangle-proof packaging, let me know and I will come up with an alternative shipping rate.
